Let's Go Fishin'........JR
2-15-10
Crappie still doing great......
Despite water still very cold, fish are starting to migrate
shallower.....we are finding alot of fish in same locations, but
a bit closer to shore! Walleye are starting to feed better up
the lake a ways, so it shouldn't be long until they turn on in
the dam area!
Will it ever warm up? I love winter fishing but this is ridiculous!

Despite a round of snow every other day, Crappie
fishing has been excellent.
Tom and Craig with four, out of their 2 limits. Even though the
water temp is still in the low 30's, the fish are feeding a
little shallower.
These new "Sling" baits are working great......

He is gearing up production right now. They have been catching
Crappie, Walleye and White Bass for me for the last year!
He finally is ready to let me introduce them to you........ Fish
haven't been able to resist them..........

But, I am ready!!!!!!

Report; Dec 31,2009
Walleye fishing has been super tough this fall/winter. Crappie
are doing fair right now on main lake if you don't mind going
deep. I caught them last trip as deep as 50ft. That
takes patience, but, can be rewarding. We are having the
coldest stretch of weather that we have had in several years.
So, I am expecting good things when the January "thaw" comes....
Remember....Let's Go Fishin....JR
Have a great fishy New Year!!!!
November 01, 2009

I guess the walleye are still feeding at night.
We took
advantage of a beautiful, warm, evening with a full moon and
caught this 4 pounder.
Missed a couple of others but also caught
some nice bass.
The weather is supposed to settle down this week, so I may
have a better report later.....
Let's Go Fishin'....JR
10-18-09
I have enjoyed a few
days off, but ready to go again.
Boy, did we get rain! My rain gauge holds 7 1/2 inches and it
was running over when I checked it.
That was just in 24 hrs.
The lakes are all up a bunch with alot of fish back in the
flooded brush.
Crappie and bass are still
the best catch right now. Walleye should start gathering
on points again soon.
Water temp is now down in the 50's with all this cool weather.
We are not getting any
stable weather, so, the fishing is good one day and not-so-good
the next.
This is a beautiful time to enjoy the scenery when the bite is
slow.
So remember,

They took thier limit back home with them along with tired

Larry and Dan, from Oklahoma, with some of their limits of
Crappie, today!
Walleye are starting to move in, but are still somewhat slow to
bite.

Bass are still going good, with top water still providing good
action.
We still have a few October dates left....better hurry if you
want in on the fall color too!!!
Let's GO Fishin' JR
Sept.10 thru Sept. 17
Walleye fishing is picking up with alot of small fish.
Crappie are also feeling the autumn-like nights and are feeding
better.
Bass fishing continues to be the talk of the lake! Good
catches with lots of nice sized fish!!!!
Here are a few pictures of this week's action.

Remember.....Let's Go Fishin' JR

We have been having so much fun with Bass, the walleye and crappie
are getting a break!
Here are some pictures with Samuel and Hannah. They are about
ready to start their guiding careers.........

August 26th
Crappie days are always fun! Here are 4 of 15 caught on
the river today with Larry and Ed.
It was a slow bite, but persistance pays off. River rats, like me,
are always happy on the river!
Fall bite is coming soon. Let's GO!!!!! Fishin'
JR
August 19 th thru
August 21st
Crappie are doing pretty
well this week. We have had several limits.
A lot of fish still just under legal, but this fall and winter
should provide great crappie fishing.
There are also alot of 12
to 14 inchers to be caught!!! Walleye are still tough on
the main lake,
but I really expect that to change soon as the water is cooling
down.
Let's Go
Fishin'.........JR
August 18
Boy, we are once again having some crazy weather! It is really
causing difficulty in finding a pattern. One day the crappie
will be 8 to 10 ft deep and the next day they may be 20ft or
deeper. The thermocline layer is down near 30 ft.
That is almost twice as deep as normal years! Walleye
fishing continues to be tough with only sporadic catches very
early, sundown, or after dark. Today we caught several
crappie, with alot of 9 1/2 inch to 10 inch fish.
Here is Hannah, my daughter, with one of her crappie she caught
this evening. She may be our next guide in the family!!!!

Walleye fishing has been very tough so we took a little break! Crappie are
biting well, however,
alot of under-sized fish are being caught here on the lake....
SO, we decided to try the river today! Here are 6 of the
30 fish that we kept today......
They seem to always be biting somewhere...
Let's go fishin'......JR
July 4th thru July
10th
With the holiday weekend, we spent little time on the water.
Crappie are doing well with a lot of sub-legal fish. That is a
good sign that fishing will be good for the next few years. At
times we are catching nice 13 to 15 inch crappie too! The
walleye seem to be taking advantage of a good aquatic insect
hatch. This is happening at the time of a full moon, so, most
activity has been at night while I sleep! Day bite should
pick back up soon!
Let's Go Fishin' JR

caught this morning.

catch".
We also had walleye, white bass, catfish, bluegill and bass.

July 1st....
Things are a bit crazy this
week. The walleye and crappie seem to have taken a vacation for
a few days. Folks are calling me asking, "Are you catching any
fish?" It has been tough for about 3 days, Moon is
going full, water has cooled after getting really warm last
week.
I think the fish are
confused. One good note, though, you can really have a
bluegill extravaganza. They are everywhere.
The walleye bite should turn on again soon. We did catch a nice
walleye and some 13" crappie late today.
Even if the bite is tough,

Summer walleye pattern is beginning. These were
taken late afternoon. Let's Go Fishin'.......

April 16 thru May
5th
Walleye fishing is picking
up and crappie are ready to spawn.
Water temps and cool weather are playing a big role in day to
day catches.
The fish will be in very
shallow water one day, then backed off again until it warms up
again.
Lake is also rising with all the cool rains we are having.
Forecast is looking better,
so the bite should improve quickly.....
Book your spring trip now while Donnie & I still have some open
dates.

With these strong fronts coming thru every 36 to 48 hours, the
poor fish don't know what to do.
It's looking like a lot of walleye have spawned, but we are
still picking up a few males.
All the fishing has slowed, but as soon as we get some warm, stable
weather, things should break open.
Hoping for a better week this week.
EVEN WHEN IT'S TOUGH, LET'S GO FISHING........JR
March 20 thru 27th
Crazy weather is taking its toll! Walleye are ready to spawn on
lower lake. Some may already have.
The bite is unpredictable
to say the least.
We had a mini- tournament with Ken's crew from Oklahoma, last
Saturday.
Congratulations to Rick who showed us up on the bass
to take the win and
received a 7'2'' Outlaw Crappie & Walleye Pole.
I still am shaking it off!!!
Will they now think Donnie is the best Guide on my Crew?
Crappie were moving
shallow, but this cold storm will hurt. Bass are
still doing good.
LETS GO FISHING! JR
March 16 thru 19
Walleye
are about ready to spawn. Catching mostly males in the 2.5 to
4.5 # range.
Bass

Crappie are scattered with reports of a lot of
frustration trying to stay on fish,
however, some are catching
good numbers.

MARCH 1st
thru MARCH 7th
Walleye fishing has been
excellent evenings early in the week. Has slowed some as fish
are probably feeding at night with the bright moon.
Should pick
back up in the next few days.
Bass
bite is maybe as good as I have ever seen on the lower lake.
Late afternoon seems best.
Presentations must be slow as water
temps are just now above 40.
Crappie
are also picking up with the larger fish following the shad.
