It has been almost too hot to fish and the fishing has
slowed a lot the last few days.
Here are the Turner brothers with a couple of crappie we

Walleye are being a bit stubborn, but managed to catch a
few. Crappie were biting good!

Walleye bite has slowed the last few days....I hope they

June 27th, 2010 Took the day off yesterday and slipped out for a while this morning. Tried some spots where the wind was not so bad and caught this 5# er and released it. Caught a few other fish and came home to relax......I'll hit it hard tomorrow.....

The crappie and walleye are in their summer feeding patterns
strong now......We had 25 crappie and a limit of walleye,
yesterday. Debbie and Terry Miller from Laurie,MO had seven
nice walleye including these two 4# fish today. Should have
had more, but......Terry spent too much time catching
catfish!!!!!!
If you would like a mess of big Bluegill, now is the time
!!!!!!

Wind was light today, so, we concentrated on the crappie
bite. Had 2 limits of crappie (mostly blacks).
Caught a few walleye but it was slow..........

Another
great day with Larry and David! Walleye were biting good
and then switched over to crappie.
Had 39 walleye today with these 6 keepers. Crappie are
turning on now that the water is coming down.

June 14-2010 After morning rain and storms, we managed to catch some walleye, catfish, bass, and blue gill for the Johnson's fish fry.

As you can see, Austin and Gary had a great time catching
bass. The walleye and crappie also were biting. They will be having a fish fry soon......those fish are tearing it up!!!!!!

Larry
and Jean McFarland from Oklahoma enjoyed a beautiful June
day by spending it after Missouri walleye. We dropped Jean off at noon and went back looking for the big one! Had 6 or 7 keepers and kept these 4 for there supper......

We had a lot of nice large mouth, Kentucky and this healthy smallmouth bass while walleye fishing. The bite was steady and these were kept for Jim and Ed's dinner! The walleye are growing rapidly and there should be no problem catching multiple limits of legal fish by mid-July.....   SO.............Let's Go Fishin'..................................JR

It is starting........the summer walleye pattern is looking

May 24 thru June 1.....
With the holiday weekend bringing out a lot of traffic, I stayed
off the lake! However we did catch a lot of walleye and
bass on a half day trip Monday morning. Water is continuing to
fall from the flooded brush and more fish will be caught as it
does. Looking like we will have a great walleye and crappie
season this year!

Well,
the lake is up to 8 ft above normal! The crappie and walleye are
feeding in the flooded brush and are hard to get out.

Despite 10 3/4 " of rain and the lake coming up 6 feet this
week, we are still able to catch some nice crappie and a few
walleye.

Crappie have finished their spawn for the most part and are
scattered on the main lake.

round of storms and heavy rain didn't help, but we were able to
catch a few for dinner this afternoon. First picture is Mr. Mike Coffey's basket of crappie and a walleye.

While
the weather is still in the early spring mode, the fishin' is
pretty good when you find a place out of the wind! The walleye are biting well with several days this last week seeing 20 to 35 caught each day. However, they are still running small with only a few of them legal size. Crappie are finishing their spawn on the upper lake and are moving out a bit deeper. Bass are spawning but are having a tough go as water temps are back into the upper 50's after several cool nights.......

Despite
another front coming, we managed to get a limit of crappie and
were just short of the walleye limit.
Had a great day and the new Skeeter got it's first workout! Ron Felker was camera shy, so, sent a picture of the Skeeter instead!

Wind is giving us problems, but still managed some small
walleye, a few bass and some crappie. Warmer weather is back so, the bite should get going strong now. Don't forget, you will find your most active fish in the shallowest water!

Water temps are finally stabilizing above 60 degrees and the
fish are responding! These were taken after 5:00PM.
Also had some channel cat and bass! Caught 5 walleye and 10

Walleye still slow to overcome our late winter....Crappie and
bass still doing good though........ Let's Go Fishin' JR March 17th thru Mar.27th Crappie are still doing good although they are breaking into smaller schools anticipating warming water. We had 14" of snow on the 21st and now are receiving alot of rain. I am afraid that as the water is slowing warming, the walleye will move into the flodded brush to feed and make tough fishing conditions...... Although
the weather keeps spring away, some of the fish keep hoping the
shallows are warming up. The crappie are very restless, roaming
back and forth.and bass are making a move to warming areas. the
walleye are still holding back.
It has been a lot of years since our water has remained this
cold for so long.

2-15-10 Despite water still very cold, fish are starting to migrate shallower.....we are finding alot of fish in same locations, but a bit closer to shore! Walleye are starting to feed better up the lake a ways, so it shouldn't be long until they turn on in the dam area! Will it ever warm up? I love winter fishing but this is ridiculous!

But, I am ready!!!!!! Let's Go Fishin' .......JR Report; Dec 31,2009 Walleye fishing has been super tough this fall/winter. Crappie are doing fair right now on main lake if you don't mind going deep. I caught them last trip as deep as 50ft. That takes patience, but, can be rewarding. We are having the coldest stretch of weather that we have had in several years. So, I am expecting good things when the January "thaw" comes....

days off, but ready to go again.
That was just in 24 hrs.
The lakes are all up a bunch with alot of fish back in the
flooded brush.
Crappie and bass are still
the best catch right now. Walleye should start gathering
on points again soon.
We are not getting any
stable weather, so, the fishing is good one day and not-so-good

catch". Let's Go FISHIN'....... JR July 1st.... Things are a bit crazy this week. The walleye and crappie seem to have taken a vacation for a few days. Folks are calling me asking, "Are you catching any fish?" It has been tough for about 3 days, Moon is going full, water has cooled after getting really warm last week. I think the fish are confused. One good note, though, you can really have a bluegill extravaganza. They are everywhere. The walleye bite should turn on again soon. We did catch a nice walleye and some 13" crappie late today.

shallow water one day, then backed off again until it warms up

It's looking like a lot of walleye have spawned, but we are still picking up a few males. All the fishing has slowed, but as soon as we get some warm, stable weather, things should break open.
